What's In Your Bible?

…for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. – Psalms 138:2

Apocrypha: Tobit

Why isn’t the Apocrypha considered inspired scripture?

God told the Jews to preserve His word. Romans 3:1. They did! It was in Hebrew.

None of the Apocryphal books are in the Old Testament Hebrew Canon.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

Why isn’t the Apocrypha considered inspired scripture?

God told the Jews to preserve His word. Romans 3:1. They did! It was in Hebrew.

None of the Apocryphal books are in the Old Testament Hebrew Canon.

If God was having the Jews preserve His word, they would be present in the Hebrew canon.

There are contradictions in the book.

This video explains how Tobit’s age doesn’t match up to the events and timeline that we know happened.

There are 3 different copies of Tobit’s stories.

In other words, it’s as though 3 different people are telling the story 3 different ways.

1. The Sinaiticus version

2. The Vaticanus Alexandrinus version

3. The Latin Vulgate version. (more on this later where it exposes translators hypocrisy)

There are incorrect lineage, geography, timelines, and Systematic Theology all throughout the Apocryphal books.

Special Thanks to David W. Daniels for his extensive research on the Apocryphal books!
