Judging
What’s In Your Bible: Judging
"Ever heard this? You can’t judge me." "The Bible says we aren’t supposed to judge." "Only God can judge my heart."
This stems from Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Context is key: Matthew 7:2
Don’t judge as a hypocrite.
Matthew 7:3-5
Are we to judge?
John 7:24
If you tell someone they should not steal while you are stealing, then you're judging as a hypocrite.
What's the basis for judging?
Since there’s right and wrong, the standard from which all are judged is the root from which we judge: The Bible!
From what perspective are we to judge?
2 Chronicles 19:6
Righteous judgment is of the Lord.!
The Lord established the laws therefore anyone breaking those laws are doing so against God.
Well, “Only God can judge my heart.”
He already has.
John 3:18
There’s a big test coming on judgment day, do you want the answers ahead of time?
If we have the answers but don’t heed by them, who’s fault is it for missing the questions?
Since we know what we’re going to be judged by, can we blame God for judging us by His rules?
What if Biblical judging is more of a warning?
If there’s a bridge out, would you rather me tell you about it or let you figure it out on your own?
If you were unalived because I didn’t warn you, would you blame me for not telling you on judgment day?
If I did warn you, and you say, You can’t judge me, who are you to judge me? Only God can judge me. And continue on and unalive yourself. Can you blame me?
Ezekiel 3:19
Are we to warn others?
Ezekiel 3:17-18
If we don’t, God will hold it against us:
Ezekiel 3:20
So really, it’s our duty to warn others. We aren’t judging, we are simply warning of the impending destruction.
Ezekiel 3:21
Many will not understand the purpose of the warning or that they are condemned already.
Proverbs 28:5
Be wise and warn others of the coming judgment.
Tell them of the Promise and Hope that is within you!
If you don’t want to be judged, judge yourself!
We’re all using the same book of rules from which we will be judged.
If you’re not doing anything to be judged, no judgment can be made.
