John 18:36 Now or Never
What’s In Your Bible: John 18:36 Now or Never?
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Jesus is saying that He’s not the king of the world now, but He will be.
What do the new versions say?
NIV But now my kingdom is from another place.” Woo Hoo! They have now!
ESV Where’d it go?
NASV No now here either
Amplified: Not even in the Amplified?
New World Translation: my Kingdom is not from this source. [Not from this source? What?]
All Reformation Bibles have Now
And why not? EVERY Greek text that has John 18:36 has the word “Now”.
Even the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus.
Why didn’t they translate it?
“Now” signifies that Jesus is not King of this world “Now” but He will be. Just not now.
It seems like Greek scholars don’t want to admit Jesus will reign on this earth.
Removing just one tiny word removes the prophecy that Jesus will rule this world. HERE.
