Wise Men in Nazareth pt 5
What’s In Your Bible: Nazareth Unalive zone.
Did the Wise men visit Jesus in Nazareth?
Here is Nazareth.
Here is Bethlehem. 65 miles and 2-3 days travel.
Here is where all of the babies were unalived.
Nazareth isn’t anywhere near Bethlehem and outside of the land of Judah
Jesus would not have been anywhere near danger if they were in Nazareth.
Herod didn’t unalive the babies in Nazareth.
Yet, God told the Wise men to travel a different way
and then told Joseph and Mary to head to Egypt
right after the wise men gave them money to do so.
If they were in Nazareth, traveling to Egypt would have put the Royal Family in eminent danger having to travel near the places where they were unaliving children.
How about this scenario…
The Star showed up and the wise men followed it to Jerusalem.
The capital, the place where Kings reside.
When the wise men arrived in Jerusalem, the star disappeared.
They sought audience with Herod since they didn’t know where to go to find the king
and to have a good conversation.
Joseph and Mary came to town after the 40 days cleansing and purification to offer the sin sacrifice.
Since they gave a poor man’s sacrifice of 2 turtledoves,
this proves the magi had not yet visited them.
Simeon held Jesus and fulfilled prophecy
Anna saw Him and then they went back to Bethlehem. (which is 5 miles away)
That night, the star reappeared to the wise men.
It led them to the place the 40 day old was sleeping.
They gave them the gifts which paid for the trip to Egypt.
That night, God warned the wise men to leave a different way in a dream.
As soon as they were gone, the Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and they got up and skidaddled to Egypt about 80 miles away.
Herod found out the wise men abandoned him.
As Joseph and Mary were heading to Egypt,
Herod’s soldiers were unaliving the children 2 years old and under.
The Royal Family stayed in Egypt at least until Herod was unalived in the spring of 4 BC.
