What’s In Your Bible From house to Egypt Part 3

Another argument used by the toddler Jesus supporters is the use of the word “house” in Matthew 2:11

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary

The leap to Jesus being 2 years old is the assumption that Jesus was no longer in a manger but in a house.

It’s projected that If they were in a house, it had to be their house in Nazareth.

Moving a baby from a manger to a house only takes a few minutes, if that.

Nazareth is not mentioned in Matthew.

Bethlehem is the set context in Matthew 1.

Let’s look at this from a human perspective.

If you lived in Bethlehem and heard that a baby was born in a barn

(or a cave, or a tower built for sacrificial lambs)

because there wasn’t any room in the inn,

might you allow them to stay in your house until after things settled down?

Bethlehem, Also known as the City of David,

was Joseph and Mary’s ancestral location in order to be counted for the taxing.

Is it possible there were distant family members in Bethlehem that would have invited them into their home after the birth?

How many babies are born in taxi’s and cars on the way to the hospital?

When it’s time, babies don’t care about the location or convenience.

Is it possible since Jewish law stated that birth mothers were considered unclean that Mary remained within a Jewish family’s house to honor the unclean law for 40 days?

That sounds more humane and plausible than unclean Mary having to ride on a donkey for 65 miles for 3-4 days right after having had a baby.
