Luke 23:33 Calvary vs Skull.
Transliteration is when a word in one language is translated into a new word that has a different meaning than the literal translation. It usually sounds much like the original word. Baptism is a transliterated word for baptizó which literally means immersion. The word Baptism has a spiritual connotation as opposed to the word immersion. Calvary is also a transliteration of the Latin word calvaria. Calvary literally means skull, but the context surrounding the word conveys more meaning than the literal word skull. Calvary is the place where Jesus died on the Cross taking our sins upon Himself so that we can spend eternity with Him. You don’t get that meaning from the word Skull. Luke 23:33 is the only place in the Bible where the word Calvary exists. But only in the Reformation Bibles ending with the King James.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. — 2 Timothy 2:15
